DALLAS, TX — Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events, a company that can help businesses with trade show displays in Dallas, recently helped a number of customers at Heli-Expo, the largest helicopter trade show in the world. Nineteen of Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events’ clients attended the show, which took place February 12-14, 2012.

Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events’ clients accounted for nearly 30,000 square feet of exhibit floor space. The Dallas trade show exhibits ranged from 10×10 all the way up to 150×120 and included exhibits from companies such as Eurocopter, Embry Riddle, Metro Aviation, Columbia Helicopter, Aero Dynamix and Marenco. Nearly 20,000 people attended the convention at the Dallas Convention Center.

“We are extremely proud of our clients for another successful Heli-Expo. Our clients are the leaders in their industries and because of this, they count on Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events to help make their event a smooth one. We strive to provide a stress-free experience and we think that it shows. Each year, we receive a large number of new clients through referrals and we appreciate that our customers think enough of our service to refer us to others. We have become well-known throughout the helicopter industry and we’re already looking forward to Heli-Expo in Las Vegas in 2013,” said Jeff Meisner, CEO of Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events (http://www.dfwexhibits.com).

Since 2001, Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events has been providing customers with well-designed trade show displays in Fort Worth and Dallas and exceptional service. The company’s revenue growth has remained in the double digits for each year, even throughout the recession when the overall trade show and event industry suffered a striking decline.

The SMU Cox School of Business named Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events as the recipient of the Dallas 100 Entrepreneur Award in 2011. This award is given to the 100 fastest growing privately owned companies in the Dallas area. The company was also named to the Inc. Magazine 5000 for the second consecutive year.

“We want each of our customers to feel like they’re our largest client. We work closely with each company’s individual marketing departments to create a one of a kind trade show exhibit that extends their brand and creates awareness though an engaging and inspiring environment”, said Meisner.

Dallas area display company shows staying power with 71 percent Growth and Inc. 5000, Dallas 100 awards

Dallas and Fort Worth area trade show display and event marketing company, Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events, is celebrating a decade in business this month and increasing national recognition in the process. Named to the Inc. Magazine 5000 for a second consecutive year, Skyline DFW is also a recipient of the 2011 Dallas 100™ Entrepreneur Award given to the 100 fastest-growing privately held companies in the Dallas area as determined by the SMU Cox School of Business.

In a decade riddled with industry-wide revenue declines, it’s no wonder that the Dallas trade show exhibit company has been creating a buzz in the exhibiting business for some time. From 2007 to 2010, Skyline DFW achieved revenue growth of 71 percent and nearly doubled the size of their staff and facilities at a time when most in their industry were downsizing.

Skyline DFW’s focus on delivering state-of-the-art exhibiting options with full service support has enabled the company to build a robust and loyal client base. “We are very excited to be on the Inc. Magazine 5000 list for the second year in a row, especially as we celebrate our tenth year anniversary! To experience substantial growth during the tough economic conditions over the last three years is truly a testament to our passionate and dedicated staff,” noted Jeff Meisner, CEO of Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events.
That dedication to service at every level has enabled the Dallas area trade show company to come out on top in the midst of economic uncertainty, generating ample returns for their customers in the process. As businesses across the United States found themselves having to cut back, trade show and event marketing budgets are often one of the first line items to be slashed. Rather than looking at those decreasing budgets as a cause for concern, Skyline DFW saw this as an opportunity to work with their clients on a more strategic level to increase value and return on their marketing investments.

“Some of our clients have experienced layoffs during the recession and rely on Skyline DFW now more than ever to be an extension of their marketing departments. We have responded to this need through unique offerings that include filling out all show paperwork and providing booth staffing. Even customers who are growing continue to leverage our services, so we are very optimistic on the future,” remarked Jeff Meade, Vice President of Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events.

SMU Cox School of Business will hold a ceremony formally recognizing Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events as a recipient of its Dallas 100™ Entrepreneur Award on November 16, 2011 at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Hall.

About Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events

Dallas Area Tradeshow Display Company Helps Clients Find High-Quality Promotional Items, Apparel and Giveaways

Dallas and Fort Worth area trade show displayand event marketing company, Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events, announced today that the company will now offer promotional items and apparel as part of the company’s Creative Services offering. Skyline DFW saw companies investing thousands on high-quality event and trade show displays to portray their brand. Yet, these same companies would buy low quality giveaways that reflected poorly on their brand, contradicting the message they wanted to convey to their audiences. Seeing that way too many promotional products are wasted and never make it home from trade shows, Skyline DFW works with clients to choose high-quality promotional products and logo apparel that are consistent with the client’s image and brand.

Jeff Meisner, head of tradeshow exhibit company, Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events, tapped his team of tradeshow consultants to work directly with customers and help them to find promotional items and logo apparel that deliver results and impressions rather than “trinkets and trash.” The promotional items team has access to thousands of items and helps customers choose high-quality giveaways and promotional items that help to drive awareness and sales.

Meisner commented on his experience, “Many of our clients come to Skyline DFW for assistance with their branding at shows and other marketing events. Unfortunately, many of these same people fail to consider how their brand is being perceived through their giveaways. If you want the market to perceive you as high-quality, make sure your choice of giveaway reflects this.”

According to a 2009 Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) study of more than 1000 who recalled receiving a promotional product, 89% could recall the advertiser of the promotional product. The study also compared promotional items to traditional media such as print and television and found that promotional products “were the only media that showed staggering results in recall and reaction.” The study showed that promotional items had the lowest cost per impression when compared to traditional media.

Kristin Kimmell, director for Camp Thurman, a Texas day camp program, asked the Dallas area trade show display company, Skyline DFW to help select promotional items to sell in the camp store and to provide to prospective camp donors. “The Skyline team analyzed our needs and provided us with great options for our camp store and donor program. The store items were a huge hit – some of our best sellers,” remarked Kimmel.

Skyline DFW estimates that over 60% of promotional products are never used. The company works with clients to find high-value items that connect with their brands. Clients look to Skyline DFW to help them find promotional items that will end up on their customers’ desks not in them. And, the company consults with customers on strategies for giveaway programs for special clients and prospects. “There is a psychology behind tradeshow or event giveaways,” said Jeff Meisner, president of Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events. “We know that anyone can sell you a giveaway item, but our goal is to help you put the right giveaway item in your customer’s hands – the item that reflects the company’s brand is actually used. In addition to giveaways, we help customers find the right logo apparel items for booth staffing or events – taking just one more thing off their ‘to do’ list and ensuring that they get high-value, quality items to represent their brands.”

Through Skyline DFW’s proprietary booth staff training program, corporations learn about how to implement dress standards for events and tradeshows that help companies to stand out among their competition.

Exposure and traffic are key motivators when a business decides to have a trade show display. Naturally, events draw large crowds of people, including those who may be interested in your products, and those who may not be. Getting your business name and product in front of these people, who were otherwise unaware that your company existed, can lead to profitable new business leads. But how can you attract even more traffic to your trade show booth? What kind of add-on would work best for your trade show display?

Utilizing add-on features to your booth can generate not only business leads, but also create a buzz around your trade show booth! An add-on can be anything from a small, easily transported gaming or contest item, to a large piece of equipment, such as a dollar bill hurricane machine or a dunk tank. These things draw attention to your booth for reasons other than your specific product, but can turn players into customers.

Including Dallas Trade Show Display Contest Add-Ons In Your Expenses

When deciding what types of trade show booth add-ons to acquire, there are several considerations. However, the main criteria should be the cost, as well as the potential return on investment. It’s obviously unclear what type of return you’ll get the first time you utilize an add-on, but the potential return should always be more than the initial investment.

If your add-on results in prizes being taken away by the public, consider not only what would promote your business name, but also what would incent a person walking by to want to win that item. Expenses should determine how many prizes you can afford to give away. Consider adding a prize wheel to your trade show display, with one or two potentially “large” prizes, and the others things like coupons towards future purchases, or other things that don’t involve an initial capital investment. Always give away branded items at your trade show booth, such as pens, lanyards, magnets, or other easily displayed and useful items.

Alternatively, there can be one major prize at your trade show display that is a huge incentive for the public, and involves entrants providing their contact information to enter. Hold the draw toward the end of the event, when the buzz is starting to die down and there aren’t many other things going on. Ensure that your entry asks for an email address, as this allows you a method of contact going forward.

Generating Hot Leads Through Add-On Usage At A Fort Worth Trade Show Booth

You already have a great product or service, but occasionally, it can be difficult to get that across to new visitors who have never heard of you. Add-ons inside of a trade show display can give those people the incentive they need to give you a chance. Use the add-on experience to start a conversation with the visitor, and build a rapport. Invite questions, and find out what is important to that customer, all before they walk away with their free gift or chance to win.

Collecting contact information is a wonderful way to strengthen a mailing list. Not all people will be willing to give their email address or phone number, but many will if it involves getting something for free. You may be able to tell which visitors are truly interested in your product, and which are just there to get the free item, but treat each one as if they are your most important visitor that day. Never assume someone isn’t a potential future client.

Other Types Of Add-Ons To Customize Your Trade Show Display In Dallas

When you’re new to the world of trade shows, it can be intimidating to go all out for your first trade show booth! There are companies, such as Skyline DFW, who offer add-ons and rental pieces to enhance and customize the look of your trade show display. Having a warmer, more inviting booth atmosphere will encourage more visitors to enter, and to linger for a longer length of time. In this type of scenario, an “add-on” could be something like a presentation system, which builds a digital presentation into your display, or even something like carpeting that compliments the color scheme of your exhibit.

In general, add-ons are intended to draw more traffic and generate more business for you, all through making your space fun, comfortable, and exciting! Whether you’re a seasoned trade show veteran, or new to the game, the professionals at Skyline DFW can make recommendations for what might work best. It’s all about the customer experience, so make it all it can be!

When your business participates in a convention, what is your goal? Sales? Leads? Exposure? Networking? Regardless of what your motive is, you set up your booth in a sea of trade show displays, hoping to make the time and money spent worth it. Then you begin to see the signs around the convention center, advertising the trade show exhibits around you. You sneak a peek at the event program, and see trade show displays (not yours) in featured positions, with larger booth spaces and better positioning. How did this happen? Those companies paid for sponsorship, meaning that an extra fee was charged to improve the quality of the event, in exchange for some sort of incentive.

In the end, though, is paying for sponsorship really worth the extra investment? It really varies based on the amount required versus the incentive provided. Will the benefits or return on investment allow you to at least recuperate the sponsorship fees? If not, there may be other solutions to obtain more exposure!

How Much More Does It Cost For Sponsorship?

In general, most Dallas trade show participants already pay a fee to participate in a convention. These fees help to cover rental of the space, insurance, and other expenses for holding the event. There’s no general rule how much trade show exhibits are required to pay in order to sponsor an event, other than it will always cost more than just having a space at the show. Depending on the size of the event, the number of participants, how many side events are taking place (dinners, dances, banquets, etc.) the cost may truly have a very wide variance.

What Are Some Potential Benefits To Being A Sponsor?

The incentives for being a sponsor can vary greatly between events. When booking trade show exhibits, it never hurts to ask about the sponsorship options, which will give a clear idea of the cost and benefit. Examples of what you might receive when booking space for trade show displays in combination with sponsorship could include:

Mention in the event brochure, with or without an image of your trade show exhibits

Larger size spaces available for your trade show displays

Better booth placement within the event space

The option to be a speaker at the event, providing exposure and a chance to advertise your business or product

Branded convention items, such as lanyards, hats, satchels, etc.

Ad space within the brochure

Free inclusion in events outside of the convention (meals, dances, etc.)

Signage around convention space showing your logo as an event sponsor

Your company website as the homepage at the convention’s internet café

Media coverage

Will Sponsorship Make Trade Show Displays More Profitable?

From the examples above of what you might receive as a benefit of being a sponsor, it does not necessarily mean that trade show exhibits will double the return on investment. In many cases, the true compensation is seen long after the event has ended, especially results from media coverage or advertising. Having larger spaces for trade show displays will certainly allow for a more creative and inviting area, but using an experienced company that knows how to arrange trade show exhibits will be of great benefit.

Essentially, exposure creates brand awareness and gets your name into the public. Media coverage can provide public relations opportunities, helping build contacts with people who matter in your industry. Sponsorship can allow you to network and build relationships with decision makers, and better placement for your trade show exhibits allows for better networking with high-profile, key clients.

Dallas and Fort Worth area trade show display and event marketing company, Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events (http://www.dfwexhibits.com) was flying high at Heli-Expo 2011 in Orlando this month, representing 9 premier clients at the industry’s largest tradeshow dedicated to the international helicopter community.

According to the Helicopter Association International, this year’s show broke records with approximately 20,000 people in attendance. Among the show’s top attractions were exhibits from the Dallas trade show exhibit company, Skyline DFW.

Part of the expense when preparing trade show stands for a convention is in the promotional items you plan to give to booth visitors. Gone are the days where a pen or something cheap will suffice. If you truly want to get a return from having giveaway items at Dallas trade show exhibits, then it needs to be something that people actually want, will keep around for a while, and can be branded to remind the customer where they got it. We’ve got some handy tips to consider when shopping around, as well as some examples of innovative giveaway ideas.

Does The Item Mesh With Your Company Or Brand?

You want to be clever in your marketing items that you give away at Fort Worth trade show stands, because they should make a lasting impression. At the same time, you don’t want to contradict your company’s branding and message. For instance, a company that promotes a vegan lifestyle should not get a cheeseburger branded with their logo. Be clever, but not kitschy. If you’re spending money on it, you don’t want it to be tossed in the trash at the end of the day.

Is The Item Within Your Budget?

The biggest consideration when planning trade show exhibits is the budget, and promotional items are no exception. You might find a really amazing idea, but with the traffic expected, it may not be in the budget. Remember, there are smaller shows where an audience is more targeted to industries, where it might make more sense to spend a little more on a well-suited item.

Can You Brand The Promo Item?

While giving visitors of your trade show stands a really novel item is wonderful, it means nothing in terms of your bottom line when they can’t remember where they got it from. Ensure that no matter what type of free gift you give to visitors of your trade show exhibits, it must be branded. The item needs to have your company name and/or logo, as well as some method of contact, such as a website, 800-number, or email address. It might be two years later that the person decides to contact you, but each return contact means that your marketing strategy is working.

Will You Receive The Item In Time?

Nothing is worse than finding the absolute perfect items to entice people into your trade show exhibits, and then the shipment doesn’t arrive in time for the show. A great number of people see promotional items as a reason to stop at trade show stands in the first place, and to miss out on a free gift is disappointing. The last thing you want to do is disappoint a potential future customer!

Is It Unique And Different?

If ten other trade show stands at the event have the same promotional item you have, the incentive to visit your booth for that item is gone. Be unique, be different, and be clever. Allow your wit and amazing customer service skills wow visitors to your trade show exhibits.

Would YOU Want The Item?

Be honest with yourself, and consider whether or not YOU would want the item you’re giving away. No, really be honest, and pretend as if you don’t know how much money the items cost.

Ask a family member or a couple of friends if they would appreciate the type of promotional item you’re considering, and get their opinion. If the item holds on real appeal, it won’t stick around long enough to advertise on your behalf.

Some Potential Giveaway Item Ideas

Skyline DFW has been doing trade show exhibits and trade show stands for a long time, and we’ve seen some excellent giveaway items. For instance, the eco-friendly spin is very “in” right now, and some companies are giving away a mini garden that has been pre-planted with a flower type, and makes a nice desk piece. In the same category, there are also decorative origami-looking pieces that when planted outside in the ground, grow, even after years. And lastly, reusable tote bags are all the rage right now, branded with your company name and logo. Your clients will remember where they received it, and will be walking billboards as they wander around town with your bag.

Another great option is a USB flash drive with a company logo. Every time a customer uses the drive, they’ll be reminded of your company. Another technology related giveaway item for trade show stands is an electronic charging device with your branding on it. Whenever a client needs to charge her phone, her laptop, or other electronic device, your company logo will be right in front of your potential customer.

Once you’ve put the time, money, and energy into planning for a trade show, the last thing you want is to commit a silly error that drives traffic away. Convention visitors can be turned off by seemingly insignificant details when deciding which trade show booths they should visit. These booths for trade shows are not inexpensive, so let’s make it worth the investment!

Keep It Simple, Silly

Too much information really CAN be a bad thing, and trade show booths are no exception. Packing booths for trade shows with a ton of information or overly wordy graphics can mean that your visitors get overwhelmed and move on to the next booth. Keeping your space tastefully laid out, and your brochures simple yet impactful makes a much bigger impression than looking desperate to communicate all information at once.

Use Your Best People

Yes, having your best and most knowledgeable people in your store or at your company’s place of business is the best idea on most days. When it comes to a day where you need staffing for booths for trade shows, you need your best people in those booths. Having inexperienced people in your trade show booths leads to not only the potential customer being given misinformation or not enough information, but also leaves visitors’ interest to be triaged by someone who may not see things your way yet.

Follow Up On New Customers!

Even clients who visit your booths for directions can be drawn in to a well-produced area. Be kind, courteous and informative to EVERY single person that visits your event. A customer’s choice to visit trade show booths can be somewhat subjective, but even a person asking where the restroom is could be a potentially big client.

Deliver On Promises

Despite seeming like common sense, this one sadly needs to be said. It’s a good idea to under-promise and over-deliver, wowing your clients, but make sure you can always do what you said you would. Booths for trade shows can be a very lucrative source of clientele, but only if meetings are set up, phone calls are made, and information is emailed, and all within the timeline promised at the event.

No Fishing

Trade show booths that sit out a fish bowl and just idly collect business cards as potential leads are truly wasting their time, money, and energy. Talk to the visitors! Booths for trade shows are designed to be inviting and interesting places, so capitalize on that and get a good rapport going with each person that comes in. Find out what makes them tick, because then you can discuss your business in a way that adds value to their lives specifically. Watching people wander by and drop a business card in is not going to get you the leads that will generate a wealth of business!

Quality Graphic Design

Last but not least, when dressing your trade show booths in Dallas, ensure that you hire an experienced graphic designer for your posters and other marketing material. Many companies attempt to cut this cost, and end up with overly cluttered, blurry, or damaged signage. Making a less than professional first impression is one of the biggest and most common mistakes.

Trade show displays are a large investment for a company, yet they are only used a few times a year. One way to get more bang for your buck is to use the displays in an office setting. Here are a few ways to do this, but first a disclaimer:

The Disclaimer

If your display is unable to change images and text, then it won’t be easy to change from office setting into convention setting. Make sure not to ruin a booth by altering it for an office setting. Additionally, be aware there is potential for someone to knock into the display and cause some damage. If you do decide to use a booth in an office setting, make sure it is out of the way, or extremely resilient.

Many Ways to Use Your Portable Display

If you do decide to put the display in an office space, the first option is to leave it completely unchanged as a way to remind your staff and yourself what you’re working toward. Seeing the exhibit, designed to promote your marketing initiatives and products or services, can be a big morale booster for a company.

If you are willing to have your booth used as more than a display piece, you could consider using it as a way to communicate with employees. It can become a destination bulletin board, where you post things you would like employees to see.

Additionally, you could use the booth in areas that customers will frequent such as office waiting areas. It can have a large impact on how potential customers view your company. As they wait to talk with someone from your company, they can learn more about who you are by browsing the trade booth material. You can even choose to keep all the marketing materials normally in the booth at a trade show exhibit in the booth while it is at the office.

Make sure you are comfortable with the added wear and tear having a booth out for display can cause. Once you have made the decision to utilize the display outside of trade show exhibits, take the time to figure out what way is best for your company.

Attendees Give High Marks to the Dallas trade show exhibit company for the seminar on Building Your Trade Show and Event Social Media Plan

Dallas trade show display and event marketing company, Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events (http://www.dfwexhibits.com) marked the launch of the company’s Creative Services group with a Lunch & Learn Seminar featuring tips on integrating social media into exhibit and event marketing plans. Seminar attendees gave the session high marks for delivering solid social media ideas to kick start their own programs.

The Dallas trade show exhibit company launched DFW Creative Services in response to customer demand for a single source provider for their entire exhibit and event experiences from pre-show, at show, to post show. “A great booth or exhibit is no longer enough and the best exhibitors go beyond the booth walls to create an engaging, relevant experience for the visitor. Our Creative Services team provides clients with the strategies and tools to elevate their show experience,” said Jeff Meisner, President of Skyline DFW Exhibits & Events.

The Dallas trade show display company’s award-winning Creative Services design team aims to make client’s exhibit experience stand out as a “Best in Show.” The group provides a full suite of exhibit and event graphic design services including graphic art production, CAD design, as well as logo, collateral and website design. Rounding out the booth experience, the team provides social media and digital marketing services along with promotional items.

“Events are a logical extension of social media, and the social media seminar was the natural choice for launching our Creative Services group. We are very pleased by the attendees’ responses,” noted Meisner. The response from the seminar attendees reflects a growing interest in integrating social media with trade show displays and event marketing strategies. Comments from attendees include praise from Lisa Vilfordi from Supermedia who wrote, “Great content – the seminar had a great level of beginner content, but not too much that they would lose the interest of more experienced social media professionals.” And Gina Mayfield of Statewide Remodeling noted, “This has been very timely. We haven’t been taking full advantage of our social media so this has been a great kick start.”

Demand for the seminar was so great that the Dallas trade show booth company plans to hold a follow-up seminar on Social Media this fall, where the team plans to showcase several case studies on successful social media integration projects.
